DIY Floral Tea Light Holders

I've not really used predesigned items in crafts, just because I like to make everything myself.  However, I popped into The Works the other day and I spotted this sheet of rub-on transfers.  As a sucker for floral patterns and for only 99p I thought I'd give them a whirl.  I was very pleasantly surprised at how good the payoff was and am already thinking about what else I can stick them on!

What you will need:
Plain Glass Tumblers
Tea Lights
Rub-On Transfers
Scissors
Lolly Stick (came with pack of transfers)

Firstly ensure that the glasses are clean before applying the transfers.  Next, cut out the desired section and peel off the protective backing.  Apply sticky side down onto the outside of the glass tumbler.

Use the lolly stick to rub the transfer onto the glass.  The technique I used was to start at the edges and gradually rub and gently peel the plastic away.  Then simply repeat for the other two tumblers and pop tea lights in each.  I used Yankee Candle vanilla cupcake candles which are divine!

I think these tea light holders are quite beautiful and look really lovely displayed on my garden table...although they are now inside because of the persistent rain.  As I've said before, I'm thinking of popping some of these pretty pansy designs on some terracotta pots.
