Pear, Elderflower and Gin Cocktail

I love cocktails.  If I have a straight-up choice, I'd go for a cocktail over any other alcoholic drink every time.  I have a ridiculously sweet tooth, as if that needs to be said, so I usually go for something fruity.  When we moved into our new house, I was very excited to discover that we have two large elder bushes in our garden.  Whilst I intend to use some of the flowers to make my own homemade cordial, I was inspired to mix pear with elderflower for this cocktail recipe.

Serves 1

What you will need:
1 can gin and slimline tonic (or 25ml gin and 250ml tonic)
25ml elderflower cordial or elderflower liqueur
3 ripe pears
Sugar syrup (optional)

Peel and roughly chop the pears.  I saved a slice from the centre for a garnish.  Blend the pears until smooth, then mix with the gin and tonic, elderflower cordial and ice.  Shake in a cocktail shaker if you have one, if not just pour straight into your glass and give it a good stir. Serve with a slice of pear on the side.

This cocktail is so summery and fresh, I can really see myself making this a lot over this summer, although I would definitely want to make it with elderflower liqueur next time.  Would you like to see more cocktail recipes?  I'd love it if you'd let me know.

Have a great day!
