This poem epitomises my own childlike thoughts and completely transports me back to the days when I would spend hours in the garden playing out every adventure that popped into my head.
The Flowers by Robert Louis Stevenson
All the names I know from nurse:
Gardener's garters, Shepherd's purse,
Bachelor's buttons, Lady's smock,
And the Lady Hollyhock.
Fairy places, fairy things,
Fairy woods where the wild bee wings,
Tiny trees for tiny dames--
These must all be fairy names!
Tiny woods below whose boughs
Shady fairies weave a house;
Tiny tree-tops, rose or thyme,
Where the braver fairies climb!
Fair are grown-up people's trees,
But the fairest woods are these;
Where, if I were not so tall,
I should live for good and all.
Gardener's garters, Shepherd's purse,
Bachelor's buttons, Lady's smock,
And the Lady Hollyhock.
Fairy places, fairy things,
Fairy woods where the wild bee wings,
Tiny trees for tiny dames--
These must all be fairy names!
Tiny woods below whose boughs
Shady fairies weave a house;
Tiny tree-tops, rose or thyme,
Where the braver fairies climb!
Fair are grown-up people's trees,
But the fairest woods are these;
Where, if I were not so tall,
I should live for good and all.
Those photos are beautiful! Really like the poem as well

Thank you! x
DeletePretty pretty flowers!! I love just taking a step and enjoying. I have started to carry my camera around a little more during the day to day to help this. If I'm going to stop and enjoy the simple things I might as well take a photo so I can enjoy them later too!
ReplyDeleteYeah me too! I've decided that despite the awkwardness of carrying around a dslr, the pay-off is totally worth it. x
DeleteBoth the photos and the poem are beautiful. Funnily enough I was actually talking with a friend today about how the way children see the world, and how we now, when we're older, tend to only think about our current problems and doings. I was definitely much more carefree when I was little!
